David Michael Slater – Librettist
David is the author of over forty books of fiction and non-fiction for children, teens, and adults. His fiction for adults includes Fun & Games, which Steven Spielberg’s start-up magazine, Heeb, called “The funniest book about growing up Jewish since Portnoy’s Complaint,” and The Vanishing, which was optioned by Chris Columbus. His non-fiction for adults includes We’ re Doing It Wrong: 25 Ideas in Education That Just Don’t Work—And How to Fix Them, and Wingnuts: A Field Guide to Every Day Extremism in America. Ernest Ebell (ASCAP) – Composer, Lyricist
Ernest is a composer, lyricist, arranger, and orchestrator. Theatre works include Wonderland Follies (performed at Lincoln Center in New York), An Evening with the First Fundagelical Players, workshopped with Ignite Theatre in Denver. He is also the author of a number of children’s musicals, performed in multiple schools in the Denver area. In addition to writing the orchestrations for the Off-Broadway production of Fairy Tales, his concert hall compositions and orchestrations have been performed by the Playground Ensemble, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, and the Boulder Symphony Orchestra. Earlier in his career, Mr. Ebell was a music copyist in New York City, primarily working on Broadway shows. In that capacity, he worked on shows for Stephen Sondheim, Kander & Ebb, Jerry Herman, Marvin Hamlisch, Jeanine Tesori, Michael John LaChiusa, Andrew Lippa, and many other prominent composers and lyricists.
